• Communities must have a population of fewer than 75,000, to located beyond 30km of a municipality of more than 75,000
• Minimum personal net worth of $300,000
• At least 3 years of experience as an active business owner-manager or at least 4 years of experience as a senior manager within the last 10 years
• Minimum of $100,000 in eligible business investments
• AT least 1 full time equivalent for a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada
• Business idea is the key to get a referral by the municipality.
• If there are too many candidates in the same area, the municipality looks at various factors, such as investment and business proposals, and score points based on the information you provide. Candidates who obtain higher points will get priority.
